DALKEY CASTLE & HERITAGE CENTRE

"Those who are patient and will sit, wait and listen or will linger along the tree-shaded road running down to the sea, can hear the centuries pass..."

Hugh Leonard

Dalkey is situated 2km south of Dun Laoghaire on the Coast road leading to Bray, Co Wicklow. The history of the town is very much apparent to all those who amble down the streets which ooze character. Dalkey is also renowned for its astounding choice of delightful pubs and restaurants, with a reputation second only to Kinsale since it has become a Mecca for famous celebrities who relish the peaceful nature of the town.

A charming Medieval town, its history dates back over 3,500 years. It is one of only two towns in the greater Dublin area to be designated a Heritage Town - a prestigious accolade. Located alongside the Town Hall and next to St. Begnet's Church the Heritage Centre serves as a central focus for the historical and cultural development of the town and will convey to visitors the richness of this unique area.
